This time refer to Eshin-in Temple and Kosho-ji Temple as "The Native Place Tour of The Tale of Genji / Vol. 10"
Eshin-in Temple
Founded in the Heian period by the priest Genshin (Eshin), Eshin-in is situated on the east bank of the Uji River, opposite Byodo-in.
It is said to have been reestablished in the middle of the Heian period by the Eshin Buddhist priest Genshin, the writer of “Oujoyoshu,” who named it Eshin-in. Genshin is said to have been the model for the heroic Yokawa no Sozu (Priest Yokawa), who rescued Ukifune, one of the heroines of the Ten Uji Chapters of “The Tale of Genji.”

Kosho-ji Temple
Founded in 1648 by Nagai Naomasa, this Soto Zen temple is situated on the east bank of the Uji River, opposite Byodo-in. The approach to the temple, known as Kotozaka, is famous for its maple foliage in Autumn.
