Introduce unique Onsen “TORETORE-NO-YU” Newly Open / A Fishermen’s Union runs Onsen in Shirahama.
On November 11, 2009, one Onsen facility opened in Shirahama Onsen. A new Onsen "TORETORE-NO-YU" or Big Catch Onsen is patronized mainly by day-trippers from nearby cities in Wakayama Prefecture.
The new Onsen is owned and managed by a fishermen’s union named "The Katata Fishery Cooperative Society".
Is Onsen business really a "Big Catch" for fishermen?
I would like to expect the business to become a "Big Catch" for fishermen".

Shibu Onsen is a historic and attractive hot spring town in Yamanouchi, which has retained a traditional atmosphere.
Nestled in a small valley, Shibu Onsen is spread out on a gentle slope beside the Yokoyugawa River, with Yudanaka Onsen located below and the Jigokudani Monkey Park above.

During its long history, the area has been visited for its hot spring water by a lot of people, including priests, samurai and poets.

Omizutori (お水取り) / Kansai Scene & Culture

Refer to Omizutori (お水取り).
Omizutori or Water-Drawing festival is a Japanese Buddhist festival that takes place in the Nigatsu-dō of Tōdai-ji, Nara, Japan. It is said that "Spring will come after Omizutori". 
The festival is the final rite in observance of the two week-long Shuni-e ceremony.
The rite occurs on the last night, when monks bearing torches come to the Wakasa Well, underneath the Nigatsu-dō Hall, which according to legend only springs forth water once a year.

Drift Ice in Hokkaido

Drift ice is ice that floats on the surface of the water in cold regions, as opposed to fast ice, which is attached ("fastened") to a shore.

Shiretoko Peninsula / Hokkaido

Introduce "Shiretoko Peninsula (知床半島, Shiretoko-hantō).
Shiretoko Peninsula is located on the easternmost portion of the Japanese island of Hokkaidō, protruding into the Sea of Okhotsk.
It is separated from the Kunashiri Island of Russia by the Nemuro Strait.
The name Shiretoko is derived from the Ainu language word sir etok, meaning the end of the Earth or the place where the Earth protrudes. The towns of Rausu and Shari cover the peninsula.
